Today I’m jotting down my thoughts and experiences about using essential oils effectively.
During the first few months that I started using essential oils, it felt like a big experiment – and I’m fine with that! It suits my personality to try different things on myself. I had instant success with using lavender to clear up my time of the month acne. I fell in LOVE with Valor from the moment I sniffed that bottle. I instinctively knew my body needed that oil (and I’m hoarding the last bottle I have because it is out of stock!)
Then my kids came down with the dreaded creeping crud that starts up every year…I kinda freaked out. I knew that people put Thieves on their kids feet to help support a healthy immune system and that it was great in the diffuser too.
I was still learning, and I had not yet come across information about when and how much oil to use.

Sometimes we jut don’t understand the way oils work in the body, and at this point, I hear people say “WHAT THE HECK! THESE OILS DON’T WORK!” and some of them give up or worse, they talk badly about essential oils, the company they bought from, and even the person that they started with.
That’s really a shame. I was not to be deterred though and I started reading to see what I could do better.
I discovered from people who have been around oils for awhile knew that it had nothing to do with the oils, but that it was my application method at fault.
I had to change my thinking. I was trying to conserve my precious oils, thinking about how much money I was using up with every drop, that I might not have enough to go around if everybody came down with *something that cannot be named*.
That was wrong thinking. If I had just listened to the people who knew better than I did, I would have know to hit it harder right away. I should have used more oils, more frequently and I would have had the diffuser running constantly too.
Then next time the kids needed a boost, I was prepared and confident.
And you know what? It totally worked.
Over the last couple years I have discovered that we each respond to certain oils better than others, and the kids and hubby even know what to do for themselves now.
So you may need to experiment a little bit. Pray about it too. If one oil isn’t supportive, try another. If one method isn’t working, try something different. The best thing you can do is to read, read, read, and talk to other oil users. Find out who your leadership is, and see what training they offer. Most people are super-helpful and want to help you learn.
Make use of your Reference matierials, Google, public studies online, and Oil-Testimonials. Get some books and literature.
I also have a great resource list for anyone to check out.
This is my personal experience and it may or may not work for you. Knowledge and trying things out really is the key to this. Don’t overcomplicate it!
If you haven’t started oils yet, and would like to learn with me I would LOVE to have you on my team!
