Have you tried essential oils for a natural, organic, spa day at home? Oh my, there is so much you could do!
Diffuse the Situation!
The first thing you need to do is set a relaxing tone by putting your favorite oil in your diffuser! Stress Away perhaps? I personally love the more woodsy scents like Balsam Fir or the new White Light from the exotic collection.
You only need epsom salts and your favorite essential oil. Mix a few drops of EO into a cup or so of the epsom salts and add it to the tub. Why do we add the oils to the salts? Because it helps them disperse in the water.
My very favorite oil to use is Sacred Mountain – oh my it is so relaxing!
Here are some other oils I use:
Cypress (great for sore muscles!)
Try out different oils and see what your favorite is!
Simple Sugar Scrub
Smooth and soften your skin with a homemade sugar scrub.
Use 2 parts sugar (I like brown sugar or a coarse white sugar) to one part fatty oil like olive oil or coconut oil. Then add your desired essential oil such as lavender or lemon. I start with a few drops and add more as needed. Essential oils are very concentrated so you don’t need very much.
Bonus: I am eager to try out the new ART skincare line that has these masques! Maybe when the kids go back to school and I have time…
Dry skin is a thing of the past! I use Young Living essential oils and coconut oil exclusively for my skincare. This is my routine for my facial care. I do not need a moisturize on my face, but I DO need one for the rest of my skin.
We switched over to coconut oil as a moisturizer years ago when our kids were sensitive to almost everything. It was the best remedy for them at the time. Sometimes we add a tablespoon of oil right into our bathwater too.
Since discovering the healing properties of essential oils, I have started adding them to our “lotion”. I usually mix in a drop or two of whichever oil I want with the coconut oil in my hand because I like to change it up every day instead of making a huge jar. But if I was going to make a large amount, I would use Frankincense and Lavender, hands down. You could also use Sandalwood, Myrrh, Jasmine, etc.
Don’t forget the massage!
You could absolutely use the coconut oil moisturizer above, maybe with Sensation blend or Aroma Sieze but if you want some true luxury at home I recommend one of the pre-made massage oils that are formulated to glide better than a homemade concoction would. Relaxation is my favorite so far. Sensation is next on my list to get. These bottles last a LONG time – a tiny bit goes a long way.
