The kids are back in school, now what? If you are like me, you went through the house on a cleaning frenzy and then sat back and enjoyed it for a few minutes. But now what?
Are you in that position? Your kids are finally all in school full time and you start thinking…I should be DOING something. I WANT to do something. Maybe you are like me and you are able to afford staying home, but you still would like to contribute to the finances?
Oh my gosh the scheduling nightmare. I have 3 kids, in 3 different schools, on 3 different schedules. I admit I have already lost track of things and it’s only the second week of school. We have to wake up at a ridiculous hour in the morning (before the birds) and I am not really doing well with the sudden reduction in my hours of sleep. I have been in a near-zombie state for a few days.
I have thought about getting a job outside of the house to fill the few hours I now have alone, but to be honest I don’t know how I would manage it.
That’s why I’m thankful I can do a little bit of work from my home. It is enjoyable, I can take a nap when I need to, I can be not-so-stressed when the kids are getting ready for school. I can cook supper instead of rely on fast food and frozen pizzas all the time.
I am grateful that God showed me a way to fulfill that desire to be productive. He put that in me, and He has given me a way to feel purposeful in this precious time where I still need to be available to my family.
And not only did He give me a job that I enjoy, it comes with other perks like making new friends who are fun, who are becoming like family to me, and who pray together, and really just want to bless and serve others. And I haven’t even talked about how much I love the essential oils in this post 😉
I am feeling blessed this week. Young Living is an amazing company. Did you know that they will let ANYONE have a wholesale membership with no strings? FOR REAL! They allow people who have no desire to build a business to have the same perks as those who want to build a business and they don’t even bother you about it. It’s amazing. And I get to help both kinds of people. I love it!
Now, obviously I decided to do this as a business – after a year of no intention of ever building one. It has been a slow transition for me and that’s OK because it fits my lifestyle and my learning curve. It fulfills my need to help people and it gives me a way to buy more oils. Um, I mean contribute to the household finances. But I realized this week that the friendships I have built online with other people on my team are even more important to me.
It’s amazing what happens when we listen to the voice of God and take a leap of faith.
I just want to encourage you to listen and leap, whatever it is you are called to. Trust in Him who made you and put that Proverbs 31 Woman desire in you.
