Did everyone get their supplies for the FTE? Say What? I call it the French Toast Emergency – when there’s a bad weather forecast and everyone runs out to the store to buy up all the eggs, bread, and milk. It’s my lighthearted way of having fun with bad weather situations (plus a tiny bit of smugness that I have all the eggs I can manage thanks to the hens, I can make bread from scratch, and milk – well we don’t have any at the moment but give me about a month and the goats will be flowing again).
So the good news/bad news of the day is that yes, we got a layer of ice. It arrived at the worst possible time of the early morning and so school is canceled and rush hour traffic is a disaster if you have to go out. Everything is crunchy or slippery but the temperature is warming quickly and it should all be melted within a couple of hours and life will get back to normal. I am thankful that there were no power outages and I do not have to worry about having enough water or heat. The kids get to have a fun day and I’m happy for them.
I know not everyone in the country was as lucky as we have been so I hope you all are staying warm and safe today! God Bless!
