Do you feel like this first thing in the morning too? Slow, sluggish, lacking motivation to get on with your day? I am not usually one to pop right out of bed and be fully alert and ready to take on the world. But I have kids that have to get on the school bus very early – like an hour before the sun comes up early – so I need some extra motivation in the morning.
I always have a cup of french pressed coffee with cream. Real cream, not that sugar loaded chemical flavored fake stuff. I enjoy my coffee. It’s caffeine, routine, and aromatherapy in a cup. I enjoy it while checking up on email and FaceBook, waiting on the daylight to come so I can get outside to feed the animals.
But some days (OK, most days) coffee isn’t enough. Then I head for my oils. Peppermint is amazing for waking up the brain. That’s why teachers let students have peppermint candies during tests, and it is recommended to have while driving long distances. It wakes you up!
If I’m really dragging, I’ll get out the En-R-Gee oil. It has Rosemary, Juniper, Lemongrass, Nutmeg, Balsam Fir, Clove, and Black Pepper. This one works really well for me because these oils help support tired adrenals which I deal with. My family likes when I use it because it smells like ‘spicy Fruit Loops’. Their words – I’m not kidding. It’s a fun one to put on in public because people try to figure out why they are suddenly smelling breakfast cereal.
