I have to confess, when I first saw that LuLaRoe stuff popping up all over social media, I thought it was stupid. I mean…first of all leggings are NOT pants, right? Right? NO. NO way. Maybe? I have seen some pretty cute outfits on Pinterest. Fashion is not my best subject though.
I’m so confused about it. I think there may be a part of me that is heading toward the leggings can be pants darkside….we’ll see.
I have to tell ya something funny – somehow I got it into my head that this trend was all about super expensive ugly designer leggings. My brain decided that they were $84.
I’m not kidding. $84 leggings. I have NO idea how my mind created that price!
That is a good personal lesson about judging things before I seek out the facts.
So when my good friend showed me her leggings on a business trip last month, I WAS impressed with how nice they felt (after all, if they were worth $84 so they SHOULD feel pretty darn good! hahahaha) but thinking about the price I thought they were, I couldn’t even fake enthusiasm about it and brushed the whole topic under the rug.
When I got home from the convention business trip I noticed a few ladies in my local area were having their launch parties. I couldn’t help but check it out when I noticed how much excitement it was generating. Curiosity – piqued! I had to know what was driving all these women to buy fancy leggings that aren’t really pants.
What the HECK is this LuLaRoe legging stuff about?
I quietly joined a few Facebook groups and browsed. I discovered that this company is actually genius in the way they create demand for limited supply of patterns- AND that the buttery-soft leggings were actually only $25.
BUT WAIT, there was MORE! So. Much. More.
There were t-shirts in different styles, workout clothes, cardigans, skirts, dresses, and all kinds of interesting garments that fall into the “athleisure” wear category and women are tripping all over themselves to get it! I can see why – you get to have comfy outfits, in a style that is 100% YOU. This is not a fad. This is fantastic!
I have yet to buy a piece, but I can totally see the appeal! I plan to visit an in-home boutique soon because I do want to try on before I buy because I am not sure of my size.
So far, I ADORE the look of the Randy tee. On the other hand, I have also seen a few items that looked like they came out of a cartoon or from a home built in the 70s but hey, to each her own. If you can pull that off, I applaud you!
For my first picks, I’ll stick with basics and probably no patterns. Will I wear them out and about as pants? Maybe – if I find a consultant that can help me learn how to not look ridiculous hahaha. I am truly fashion challenged.
How about YOU? Have you bought in to the craze yet? What is your favorite piece? Are you a consultant?
Just FYI – I have NO interest in becoming a LuLaRoe consultant or host. I cannot deal with having to keep track of inventory and stuff. I have enough to do with my essential oils business (no inventory!) and I’ll leave that to those who truly love serving people that way 🙂
Update: I am meeting some really fun and nice women through the love of ultrasoft leggings! Here is a new friend – check her out Hope’s LuLaRoe Love Online
