When I put a new photo of myself on FaceBook recently, my skin got alot of comments. I did not touch up the photo – I used a soft filter but it’s pretty true to life. People wanted to know what I have been using – you know what I’m going to say…Young Living Essential Oils! Essential oils can be a great option for skincare.
My horrible skin was the #1 reason I tried Young Living oils. I had developed ugly red spots after the birth of my last child years ago. It was painful, embarrassing, and was creeping up my jawline and on neck and even behind my ears! I tried everything to clear it up – dietary changes, soap/no soap, OTC product lines, oil cleansing, homemade remedies, herbs, etc. I was dead set against prescriptions though because they scare me!
I had even tried lavender oil! It was from another line, was inexpensive and didn’t do a darn thing. So I was a total skeptic, but someone I trusted was having results with her acne with this Young Living brand of oils.
I am so thankful to her. She changed my life.
I got my oils and started with Lavender. I just spread one drop on my face at night before bed. *bonus, it helps me sleep!* Within a few days my spots were almost GONE. I was floored. I’m talkin deep under the skin painful red bumps that would sometimes take months to go away and always left scars!
I started using Frankincense on top of the Lavender because I had read that it was great for improving skin tone and telltale marks left behind. It has taken care of all those pesky little imperfections that I had gotten used to.
After 2 years, it’s like I have a new face. My skin keeps getting better. I’m 38, I have no wrinkles or fine lines yet. I have only an occasional pimple during hormonal times and they quickly go away. Once or twice a day is all I apply. And I only wash before bedtime with a very gentle cleanser such as a goat milk soap or oatmeal soap. I do not wear much makeup, but when I do I choose Sterling Minerals brand mineral makeup and they are online.
This is definitely my anti-aging solution!
*NOTE – I do not have dry skin OR oily skin so you may need to find your own perfect combination. Adding Lemon oil seems to work well for some people but it is a photosensitive oil, so stay out of the sun. A little coconut oil as a base is great for dry skin. Those would be where I would start out.
All the oils mentioned come in the Premium Starter Kit at a savings, or can be purchased separately at retail price. Lots of choices to get started, so send me a comment via the pop up form if you would like some help!
